WHY WAS SYSTEMEU CREATED?

SYSTEMEU was established to address the pressing need for cross-regional collaboration and systemic innovation in Europe. The project aims to bridge innovation gaps across regions with varying levels of development and performance, especially in sectors like:

  •  🏥 Healthcare
  •  ⚡Energy
  •  🚗 Mobility

By integrating societal well-being into the innovation process, SYSTEMEU aligns with key European and national strategies, including the New European Innovation Agenda, to create sustainable, regenerative ecosystems that promote both economic growth and societal well-being.

 

OUR MISSION

SYSTEMEU addresses the issue of traditional innovation efforts’ limited focus on societal and environmental transformation, introducing a systemic and long-term perspective. By fostering a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, SYSTEMEU will enable adaptable policies and stimulate economic vibrancy, enhancing societal well-being and advancing European innovation

 

WHAT IS SYSTEMEU?

SYSTEMEU is a European project involving 15 leading organizations working across five European regions Bavaria, Cluj-Transylvania, Castilla y León, Tuzla Canton, and Varna European Innovation Ecosystems — with varying innovation capacities. The project aims to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and inclusivity by leveraging the unique strengths of each region’s smart specialization strategies. SYSTEMEU focuses on addressing regional societal challenges and utilizing disruptive technologies to spur systemic entrepreneurship, while promoting deep-tech solutions.

 

HOW DOES SYSTEMEU WORKS?

SYSTEMEU emphasizes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach, engaging stakeholders from academia, industry, civil society, and policymakers to foster systemic innovation. The project identifies societal challenges, analyzes each region’s smart specializations, and develops a shared vision to tackle pressing issues through complementary innovation efforts. SYSTEMEU’s action plan includes:

  • Developing training programs to enhance workforce skills in disruptive technologies.
  • Promoting cross-regional cooperation to address core challenges in healthcare, energy, and mobility.
  • Implementing disruptive technologies and fostering the development of cross-regional innovation projects
